Why Fine Tribal?

Probably you’ll expect an intro with jungle, snakes, exotic characters and relic hunters. No, this is what we have lived already. Don't be upset, we will write a weekly post about our South Pacific Tales starting this November, just follow us. In the next lines we’ll explain you why, what and how we finally made the big step: show our Tribal Art collection and transform our 30 years long passion in our work.

Why did we name it “Fine Tribal”? Fine and Tribal sound an oxymoron, isn’t it? However, Oceanic Art is made with a rare and refined craftsmanship which results in the most precious pieces among Tribal Arts. So Fine Tribal Art is the proper definition for what we collected during our travels. Additionally, this website would become more than a simple Online Gallery. We aim to create a Tropic of Capricorn-web-crossroad about tribes, anthropology , cultural confrontation and art understanding in the South Pacific Rim. Each of these topics will have its own weekly column: New Entries, Collection Insights, South Pacific Tales, Tribal Art, Anthropological Notes, Interior Deisgn Tips and Book Reviews.

What is “The Bismarck Gallery”? It is the Online Gallery of our private collection which sooner or later we will also show “offline”. We named it in honor of the Bismarck sea. Among the magic landscapes of Melanesia and Polinesia the sunset-pink silent water behind Tavurvur volcano resembles the bridge between classicism and romanticism, in Art terms. The natural beauty that makes Art its replica, in Kantian Aesthetic terms.

How does Fine Tribal work? As far as we know, it is one of the main Tribal Art collection in Italy. At the moment we are showing just a small part, what we could manage to upload in a couple of weekends. The rest will come out week by week. Two weekly post will explain every piece with its history, info and tips. Then, we should also make Fine Tribal sustainable. We would like to have an easy-living life as in the Marovo Lagoon, but we are in Italy in a period of crisis. So we decided to offer dedicated Tribal Art Service for each field of our business day-to-day expertise: dealer, advisor, designer, anthropologist. What we can guarantee is a huge and strong local network, established in thirty years of travels. About the know-how, well, just follow us online!

This is just the beginning! Keep in touch with us, we would love to receive all your feedbacks!
